For a ribeye, I wanted an alternative to the famous tourist trap around the corner. Hilton hotel concierge recommended Oliver's. Hawker at door was friendly, wait staff was fast, on a Sunday evening. Always a crowd moving around outside Paddington Station, fun to watch. Monte d'Abruzzi 250ml wine. Spinach. 12 oz ribeye medium. I'm used to thick fatty cuts of ribeye in the US. Here, thinner, not so fatty. But good. Met my needs. Wavered between 3 and 4 stars, but Yelp doesn't have much grade inflation, so I went with three. But could have been a four.
The bill had a pound for "cover charge" but I had read the other reviews here. I said that's a silly charge, waiter showed me fine print on menu that all meals have a cover charge of one pound, but offered to take it off. I said please remove it, but then please add back three pounds for tip anyway. £34 total, everybody happy. YMMV. -

2 adults and 3 kids, we walked in to give it a try. To say the restaurant manager/waiter treated us with rather snooty attitude is an understatement. The food was nothing to write home about and for a rather ordinary 12oz steak with no sides apart from a cold grilled tomato slice and a piece of sliced cold grilled zucchini for £22 left me very underwelmed. We finished our drinks halfway through yet no one cared to ask if we required anything further, should I have to flag someone down for service ?. The last unsettling item occurred on paying the bill, the total came to £117 for a very basic dinner and I wasn't asked to sign the receipt , I raised this with the waiter as to how he could charge my card for that amount without requesting any kind of signature and he fumbled and blamed the handheld device which I don't believe for one second, it even says on the receipt "verified by signature" which is completely false. I've been around london the last 10 days and ate at so many better places for less and every single time a signature is required. I would steer well clear of this place and enjoy your time and money in a far finer establishment of which you can find many just a step away. It's our last night in the city and I feel we totally wasted a decent diner experience on something out of Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares. At least the one drink I got was cold but you really cant mess up when all you have to do is open the fridge out back. The restrooms are non existent and you have to weave through what looks to be a hotel foyer filled with junk and through a maze of stairs to get to them. Bad.

Ordered Rib Eye steak 12oz. Received Sirlion which is 4 GBP more cost and some cover cost incl. who made mistake unknown and what that " cover cost" can no one explain. Stay away from here or be careful. Let them confirm your order.

Service was good, even on a busy Friday night.ordered my burger medium, but it was well done, but it was fine. They slip pin a extra $1 charge as a"cover" which is total bullshit.
